1996

Mr. Crumb was established by Bernard and Patricia Coyle.
Bernard was working as a salesperson for a major bakery and noticed a gap in the market for fresh breadcrumbs.

Started out in a building in Finea with 4 employees.

1997

Launched Mr. Crumb Breadcrumbs and Stuffings into Dunnes, Tesco, Supervalu and Superquinn.

1998

Winner of the County Enterprise Award and Finalist in the National Enterprise Awards.

1999

Winner in the National Hygiene Awards in the Food and Drink Category.

2002

Winner of the Business Achievers Awards (Irish Independent / Ulster Bank).

2003

Finalists in the National Marketing & Sales Awards.

Finalists in the Bord Bia Food Awards.

Won Best Irish Speciality Product in the UK Great Taste Awards. We also won 2 other awards: Gold Medal for Pork Cranberry & Chestnut Stuffing     
Bronze Medal for Fiery Mexican Stuffing

Finalist in the UK Food Industry Awards: Sir Alistair Grant Awards for Outstanding Small Business.

Winner of the Excelsior Awards 2003 for Customer & Staff Care.

2004

Won 'Outstanding Irish Business' at the Checkout Awards.

At the Great Taste Awards August 2004 in the Olympia, London, Mr. Crumb was awarded 5 out of the top 6 prizes in the stuffing category including:
Gold Medal (Meat Based) Lamb, Sage & Onion Stuffing
Gold Medal (Vegetarian Based)  Apricot & Chilli Stuffing

Highly Commended at the UK Food Industry Awards for 'Outstanding Small Business'.

Winner of the UK Cheltenham SME Sponsorship Award.

2005

Winner of the Bank of Scotland Best in Business Award.

Won 'Irish Small Business of the Year' in the SFA Awards.

Launched new product range of crostinis and baguettes with garlic, four cheese and sundried tomato & chilli flavours under the Toscanos brand.

Relocated into new 30,000 sq. ft. factory based in Finea.

The company was shortlisted for a Corporate Social Commendation at the Ireland 'The Food Island' Food and Drink Industry Awards due to efforts in the area of 'social responsibility'.

2006

Mr. Crumb starts supplying Waitrose, Nisa and Budgens in the U.K with Mr. Crumb Stuffing.

Silver Medal Winner at the London Great Taste Awards for Cream Cheese & Bacon on Triple Grain Bread Bruschetta.

2007

Launched new range of party food into Superquinn, Supervalu, Dunnes, Budgens, Booths, Nisa, James Hall, J&J Haslett Ltd.

2008

55 full time employees in the company.

Received a recommendation for our breadcrumbs’ in Delia Smiths latest
book “How to Cheat at Cooking” as Delia Cheat Ingredient.

At the Great Taste Awards July 2008, Mr. Crumb was awarded a Gold Medal for our Goats Cheese & Sundried Tomato Mini Crepes.

Launched Mr. Crumb Breadcrumb and Stuffings into ASDA Northern Ireland.

Launched Waitrose Own Label Breadcrumbs & Stuffings.

Launched Bruschettas for ASDA UK.

Launched a new range of 100g stuffings under the Mr. Crumb brand.

Re-Developed our Website.

Launched a new range of Burritos for the food to go and chilled convenience trade.

Launched a new range of Sauces under the Mr. Crumb brand into the retail trade.
